Marketing and Communications Assistant Manager
Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Marketing and Communications Assistant Manager to join our team for a 6-month contract.
The Marketing and Communications Assistant Manager plays a key role in developing and implementing strategies to promote the sports facility, enhance brand visibility, and engage with both current and potential customers. This position is responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, handling media relations, and ensuring clear and consistent communication across all channels.
The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Marketing Strategy & Campaigns:
- Support the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns to promote the sports facility’s services, events, and programs.
- Assist in managing digital and traditional marketing efforts, including social media, website content, newsletters, and paid advertising campaigns.
- Analyze market trends, audience behavior, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth.
Communications:
- Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing newsletters, and other promotional materials to media outlets, stakeholders, and clients.
- Maintain consistent messaging across all communication channels (website, social media, emails, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team on internal communications to ensure staff are informed about upcoming events, promotions, and facility changes.
Social Media & Digital Marketing:
- Manage social media accounts, develop content calendars, and engage with followers to enhance online presence.
- Monitor and report on social media performance, adjusting strategies to improve engagement and reach.
- Assist in optimizing the website, creating landing pages, and executing online campaigns (SEO, SEM, etc.).
Event Promotion & Public Relations:
- Assist in promoting and coordinating special events, tournaments, leagues, and facility programs.
- Manage event communications, ensuring clear messaging and positive coverage.
Brand Management:
- Ensure brand guidelines are followed for all creative materials
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to create visually appealing and consistent brand assets.
Customer Engagement:
- Develop strategies to increase customer engagement and satisfaction through targeted campaigns.
- Collect customer feedback and conduct surveys to measure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Use data insights to recommend improvements to marketing strategies and tactics.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support for the marketing communications team as needed, including preparing reports and presentations.
- Other duties as required from time to time.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the sports, recreation or entertainment industry.
- Experience in managing social media platforms, content creation, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Previous experience in event marketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital content creation and marketing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express Google Analytics, SEO, SEM, email marketing, etc.).
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Go HighLevel or equivalent).
- Knowledge of sports marketing and branding principles is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Passion for sports and an understanding of the sports facility environment.
- Ability to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
- High energy, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A Vulnerable Persons police record check will be required for the successful candidate.
Working Conditions:
- Full Time, occasional evening and weekend work required to attend events, meetings, or promotions.
- Ability to work in a sports facility setting, where regular interaction with athletes, staff, and visitors will occur.
- Ability to operate photography and videography equipment in Field of Play spaces as needed.
