The CPC is a non-profit, private organization with 28 member sports organizations dedicated to strengthening the Paralympic Movement.
Job Summary
The Games Operations & Delivery department is part of the Sport Division at the CPC and is responsible for facilitating access to the operational services (includes Team Registration, Travel, Fulfillment, Facility and Security) that are required for the CPC’s team members to perform at International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Americas Paralympic Committee (APC)-sanctioned multi-para sport competitions (Games).
As a member of the Games Operations & Delivery department, the Manager, Games Operations & Delivery, collaborates with their departmental team members and internal/external stakeholders to oversee the planning and implementation of operational services that meet the performance goals of Canadian National Sport Organizations (NSOs) and stakeholders at the Games.

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 annually plus benefits

Location: Remote within Canada, with travel to CPC head office in Ottawa for occasional in-person meetings
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Manager, Games Operations & Delivery is accountable for driving program objectives forward through development of project plans and reporting associated with the delivery of operational services. The Manager is a skilled communicator capable of engaging and servicing multiple levels of Games stakeholders.
- Inspire and motivate staff and colleagues, creating a positive environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
- Foster optimal performance at Games through sound operational planning and delivery to create a healthy culture of excellence with an emphasis on positive experiences and well-being.
- Drive the development and execution of operational services by guiding staff in creating and maintaining project plans, managing issues, engaging stakeholders, and overseeing suppliers.
- Deliver regular project status updates to the department, cross-functional teams, and executives.
- Establish and maintain clear communication systems with Stakeholders of the Games to keep everyone informed and engaged.
- Advise cross-functional stakeholders in relation to project initiatives impacting the organization and collaborate with other CPC departments to ensure integration and alignment.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Games Host Organizing Committee.
- Support the development of planning & preparation programs and conduct operational site visits to ensure comprehensive readiness.
- Together with the Director, Games Operations and Delivery, collaborate on the innovation and development of the CPC operational planning for each of the Games cycles.
- Ensure a smooth and effective onboarding process for external third-party suppliers. Build strong relationships with suppliers while maintaining compliance with Games standards and policies.
- Support the production of budgets and staff work plans that align with CPC strategic priorities.
- Supervise and manage the performance of assigned staff or contractors to ensure successful role execution.
- Understand and be responsible for ongoing environmental scanning to leverage new opportunities around world-class Games Operations and Delivery.
- Participate in key meetings and briefings within the Canadian or International Sport Systems as required.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5-10 years’ working experience within a professional environment, and a proven track record of increasing responsibilities.
- Experience hiring, leading and mentoring staff in a professional setting
- Experience establishing and managing performance-focused operational plans and budgets.
- Experience onboarding and supervising third-party suppliers is considered an asset
- Experience as a Para-athlete is considered an asset.
Education
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or a combination of training and related experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or willingness to obtain.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of multi-sport Games operations and delivery
- Project management, schedule management and change management skills required to guide projects to completion.
- Ability to influence and manage conversations across the organization at multiple levels.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, data management systems and project management tools such as Smartsheet and Asana and database systems.
- Strong relationship management skills that empower professional staff, third-party suppliers and volunteers
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Sport System and the Paralympic and Olympic Games
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in English; additional languages – French or Spanish – is considered a strong asset.

Working Conditions
- Primarily a remote working environment with the ability to work from anywhere within Canada.
- The CPC Head Office is currently located in Ottawa, ON. Staff based outside of Ottawa will be expected to travel to Ottawa a few times a year or as the job demands.
- Overnight and overseas travel and off-site work required (e.g. Games, Site Visits, Events, Meetings, etc.)
- Will be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods, including Games and other special events.
