Gymnastics Canada (GymCan) is the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Canada,
overseeing all Olympic disciplines including men’s (MAG) and women’s (WAG) artistic, rhythmic (RG),
trampoline (TG), and the other world level disciplines. With a mission to lead and support the growth of
gymnastics across the country, we play a key role in athlete development, coach and judge education and development, national events and high-performance excellence. Who we are looking for
The Manager, Coach and Judge Development plays a pivotal role in leading and advancing the development and sustainability of GymCan’s coach and judge education, certification, and professional development programs. This role is responsible for managing the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and judge training and certification pathways across all gymnastics disciplines and supporting coach and judge development in alignment with GymCan’s strategic priorities.

NCCP Program Oversight

  • Manage the ongoing development, programming, delivery, and long-term sustainability of GymCan’s NCCP for all gymnastics disciplines. Ensure alignment with national standards, industry best practices and the evolving needs of the coaching community.

Coach Education Council Leadership

  • Co-Chair the Coach Education Council, fostering strong engagement and collaboration with Provincial/Territorial Organizations (P/TOs) to collaboratively plan and manage the operational aspects of the NCCP. Ensure responsiveness to member organization needs and consistency with the GymCan Strategic Plan.

Judge Education and Certification Oversight

  • Manage the ongoing development, programming, delivery, and long-term sustainability of judge training and certification pathways for all gymnastics disciplines. Ensure consistent alignment with P/TOs and international standards and consistently drive excellence and innovation.

Coach and Judge Professional Development

  • In partnership with P/TOs, and working closely with the Director, Safe Sport to provide leadership, support, design, and delivery for ongoing professional development training for coaches and judges, fostering a culture of lifelong learning.

Partnerships and Representation

  • Act as the primary liaison for GymCan with national coaching bodies and external parties related to coach and judge development. Represent GymCan’s interests and priorities in national coaching forums and initiatives

Cross Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with other GymCan departments on projects and initiatives that integrate coach and judge education and certification, supporting integrated programming to strengthen the leadership, knowledge, and qualifications within the gymnastics community in Canada.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in sport management, education, coaching, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in coach/officials’ education program management, ideally within a sport federation or national sport organization.
  • Strong knowledge of the NCCP and Long-Term Development in Sport and Physical Activity framework.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with ecosystem, including P/TOs, coaches, and funding partners.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning development is considered an asset.

Location

Open to remote candidates based in Canada.
Travel (domestic and/or international) – 3 – 5 times per year.
