We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.
Working within the larger Marketing Partnerships Team, the Intern, Marketing Partnerships will be responsible for supporting sponsor planning and activations, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the best-in-class Partnerships team. The intern will assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Partnerships functions by providing supportive services in the following areas: General Administration, Partner Service, Commercial Affairs and Business Development.
Location
This internship will be located in the COC office in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St., Suite 3000. We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.
Core Responsibilities and Priorities
General Administration
- Supports the day-to-day efficient operation of the Marketing Partnerships team
- Supports Marketing Partnerships Inbox management: follow up on email as required
- Updates Marketing Partnerships team tracking documents and maintains up-to-date records for departmental programs
- Assists in the coordination of the Marketing Partnerships Team Gifting program, including inventory management, organization and shipping requirements
Partner Service
- Supports the execution of specific Marketing Partner programs (e.g., Bell Athletes Connect Program, Sobeys Grocery Card Program, FACE Program)
- Fulfills Marketing Partner requests and contractual obligations
- Supports the overall Partnerships team in day-to-day servicing of Partners
- Assists with research, development and execution of Marketing Partner projects and events
- Supports the Partnerships team with Partner Engagement Requests (e.g., event support, gifting, strategic planning, research)
- Prepares Partnerships presentations and reporting for review
- Prepare internal and partner communications for review and distribution
Commercial Affairs
- Assists in monitoring the Brand inbox for both internal and external requests
- Duties as assigned
Business Development
- Researches and prepares reports on industry trends and marketplace analysis to support with partnership development for new and existing partners
Other responsibilities, as assigned
Qualifications and Critical Skills
- Must be enrolled in a Canadian degree or diploma program in Business (Marketing, Communications, Commerce) or Sport Management or relevant field
- Strong verbal and written communications skills. Bilingualism (French, English) is an asset but not a requirement
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced hybrid environment
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Positive team player with an eagerness to learn and an affinity for building strong relationships
- Strong Knowledge in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
- Self-starter and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Curiosity for and desire to learn more about the business of sport, and about the business challenges COC Partners face across various industries
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and deploy resources in areas that have greatest positive impact on results
- Digital/social media familiarity, experience with platforms an asset
- Demonstrates and embodies the COC values of Accountability, Excellence, Fun, Respect and Bravery
Term
This full-time internship will run from approximately May 2025 to August 2025, depending on the successful intern’s availability and the academic calendar.
Compensation
This is a paid internship. The intern will earn an hourly wage of $18.00 with a maximum of 35 hours per week.
