Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Equipment Manager to support our professional women’s soccer team. The Equipment Manager will oversee the inventory, maintenance, and distribution of all team equipment, ensuring that both players and coaches have the necessary resources for training, matches, and travel. This role is essential for the smooth operation of the team, helping contribute to overall performance and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the inventory, distribution, and upkeep of team gear, including uniforms, training equipment, and match-day supplies
- Work closely with the coaching staff to meet all equipment needs for practices, games, and travel
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, monitor inventory levels, and place orders as needed
- Prepare and organize the transportation of equipment for both home and away games, ensuring everything is ready for use
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all equipment to ensure it is safe, functional, and in good condition
- Support with the setup and breakdown of equipment on training and match days
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to acquire new equipment and gear as required
- Oversee the laundering, maintenance, and repair of team uniforms and other gear
- Assist with logistical planning for team travel, ensuring equipment is safely transported
- Represent the team at community engagement activities and events as needed
- Perform additional duties to help ensure the overall success of the team’s operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; preference for candidates with a college degree
- Prior experience in an equipment management role, ideally within a sports environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem solve in stressful or time-sensitive situations
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds
