Nature of Work:

Volleyball Canada is a not-for-profit that provides leadership and oversees the development of volleyball in Canada. Volleyball Canada is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Digital Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of Volleyball Canada’s website redesign project, from developing the Request for Proposal (RFP) through to final launch. This role will coordinate internal stakeholders, manage external vendors, and ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of accessibility, usability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Planning

  • Lead the website redesign project lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Draft, manage, and coordinate the RFP process, including vendor selection and contracting.
  • Define and maintain project scope, goals, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Develop detailed project plans, resource allocation schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with internal departments (communications, high-performance, grassroots, events, etc.) to gather requirements and ensure needs are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the selected digital agency or development vendor.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins, reviews, and approvals to ensure alignment between Volleyball Canada and external partners.

Content & UX Oversight

  • Coordinate content migration, audits, and development in partnership with internal content owners.
  • Ensure user experience (UX), accessibility (AODA/WCAG compliance), bilingualism and mobile responsiveness are prioritized in design and implementation.
  • Work closely with internal communications team and external vendors to create an intuitive site architecture and navigation (including English and French.
  • Ensure VC’s brand guidelines are followed and implemented correctly before site a launch.

Testing, Launch & Post-Launch

  • Oversee testing phases including UAT, QA, and performance validation.
  • Develop and manage the launch plan, including internal training, soft launch, and go-live.
  • Collect and analyze feedback post-launch for future optimization.

Qualifications/Expertise:

  • 3–5 years of project management experience in digital or web development projects.
  • Proven experience managing a bilingual website project from RFP to launch.
  • Strong knowledge of digital project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall).
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and web development best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) and SEO best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into accessible language.
  • Previous experience working with or for a national sport organization or nonprofit is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • PMP, ScrumMaster, or other project management certifications are an asset.

Term

This is a term contract position of 12 months with strong possibility of extension based on project timelines.  Flexible weekly hours based on project requirements.
