Status: Full Time, One-Year Contract (with the possibility of renewal)

OVERVIEW:

The Coordinator, Inclusion Programs is a motivated self-starter who will be a key member of Golf Canada’s Sport team. The successful candidate will be passionate about event planning and organization and will have strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. This individual will assist in the development, planning and execution of programs and initiatives designed to increase participation in golf for women & girls through the She Plays Golf initiative. The successful candidate will also support programming designed to address gaps in the participant pathway for individuals with disabilities and other marginalized communities. The Coordinator, Inclusion Programs will provide administrative support for She Plays Golf (SPG), the Community Grant Program, and the tracking of Safe Sport compliance.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Women’s Participation Programming – She Plays Golf                                                            70%

  • Support the development and execution of She Plays Golf festivals, including:
    • Travel to festival locations to assist in the delivery of events
    • Planning, organizing, and executing festival events while adhering to event budgets and timelines, including facility selection, instructor scheduling and communication, equipment rentals, participant registration, and food & beverage
    • Distribution of feedback surveys and collection/analysis of feedback to identify areas for improvement
    • Maintain relationships and communication with host facilities
    • Execute participant recruitment strategy to reach participation targets, including setup and maintenance of the registration system
    • Create event-specific collateral from design templates
    • Conduct outreach with community groups to collaborate on SPG events
    • Coordinate shipping of SPG collateral and signage to events
    • Carry out a volunteer recruitment strategy, coordinate and deliver volunteer training, and handle all scheduling and communication with volunteers throughout festivals, including providing guidance and excellent customer service to volunteers
  • Support the rollout and delivery of other She Plays Golf initiative components
    • Distribution and maintenance of collateral and resources (ex. Golf 101 cards)
    • Foster relationships with Provincial Associations, First Tee chapters and community organizations to maximize the impact of festival events and SPG initiatives
    • Accept and review applications from clubs and provincial associations for SPG Try Golf clinics
    • Promote opportunities for continued engagement in golf in each region
  • Manage the She Plays Golf email inbox, responding to inquiries professionally and in a timely manner

  1. Inclusive Sport Programming – All Abilities and Other                                                 20%
  • Support with the identification of barriers to participation in golf and gaps in the participation pathway for individuals with disabilities
  • Support with the development of a recreational participation strategy and participation pathway leading from first involvement to competition
    • Support the development of an Eligibility Assessor recruitment strategy and pathway to increase the number of trained assessors and strengthen the assessment process
    • Support the integration of “para” community groups into the All-Abilities Championship

  1. Cross-Organizational Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives                               10%
  • Liaise with sports departments to provide administrative support for recording Safe Sport compliance
  • Support the execution of Golf Canada’s efforts to increase Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”) in Canadian golf
  • Support cross-departmental projects and collaborate with other team members to ensure overall success of initiatives relating to DEI
  • Identify and liaise with under-represented and equity-deserving community groups to feature on Golf Canada’s Community portal
  • Assist with the preparation of application forms and processes for the Golf Canada DEI Community Grant program, support with initial reviews of applications to determine eligibility and completeness
  • Mine for data to support grant applications for Inclusion Program Initiatives

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in sport management, business, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under time restrictions.
  • Flexibility and demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • A passion for and experience with event planning and execution is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Bilingual (English and French) is not required but is considered an asset.
  • Golf knowledge or experience is not required but is considered an asset.
