Canada’s leading Concussion in Sport Symposium, hosted by the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC), is back this year to showcase the latest research, best practices, and a stellar selection of speakers!

It all took place on January 31, 2024, and it prioritized athlete safety, as well as provided educational opportunities for Canadian sport clubs, coaches and organizations on the latest protocols and policies for concussion safety.

Sport organizations and sport leaders benefited greatly from the practical learnings that include how to update their policies or guidelines, making safety in sport a priority in your community and staying on top of the latest which protects our athletes.

The day also consisted of dynamic discussions such as:

  • A deep dive into what does the new consensus statement mean for return to sport and school and how can we inform our policies
  • Showcasing the advancements of concussion management in parasport
  • The longest longitudinal study on concussion prevention in youth ice hockey.
  • Why athletes aren’t reporting concussions and the impact and lots more.

The roster of speakers can be found here.
