Canada Adds Games against Italy and Florida

Fort Myers, Fla. – Softball Canada is pleased to announce a series of games with the Canadian Women’s National Team taking on Team Italy and Team Florida in Fort Myers at the end of April.
 
As part of an agreement with the Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball (FIBS), WBSC no. 3 ranked Canada will face no. 10 ranked Italy in a pair of doubleheaders on April 25 and 26 as both teams continue their preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games. The softball competition is scheduled to be played from July 21 to 27, with Canada and Italy playing each other on July 26th.
 
The Canadian National Team will also play a series of four doubleheaders (eight games total) against Team Florida from April 30 to May 3.
 
All games will be closed to the public for safety precautions. Streaming details will be available through the Softball Canada website.
 
Team Canada has been training in Fort Myers since March 22nd while Team Italy has just announced a two-week Florida tour. Both teams are looking to maximize their training and competition opportunities leading up to Tokyo.
 
The Canadian Women’s National Team will remain in Fort Myers until mid-May before relocating to Marion, Illinois to continue with their preparations. They will play a 16-game schedule in Marion as the Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois.
