Canada’s high-performance athletes invited to participate in Mental Health in HP Sport Study!

In response to increased awareness of the importance of athlete mental health, the Canadian sport system is beginning to build mental health promotion and protection into policy and practice. However, research on the mental health of Canadian HP athletes across the Olympic/Paralympic quadrennium is scarce. Canadian-specific research is necessary to make informed decisions and develop appropriate educational programs and resources to optimize athlete well-being.

Researchers from the University of Ottawa and Ryerson University are collaborating on the Mental Health in HP Sport Study to better understand the interaction between mental health, mental performance, sport culture, and athletic performance over two years of an Olympic/Paralympic quadrennium. All senior and Next Gen athletes identified on the NSO podium pathway and/or receiving AAP funding are invited to participate. Athletes who complete the online survey will be entered to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card!

You can learn more about the study by registering for an information session hosted by the Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport on October 29 at 6pm EST.
