Player List Revealed for the Quebec City National Bank Challenge

[TORONTO, ON] October 7, 2025 – The player list for the Quebec City National Bank Challenger was announced on Monday at the Club Avantage Multi-Sports, the venue for the brand-new Canadian event. From October 13 to 19, 2025, professional tennis returns to Quebec City with an International Tennis Federation (ITF) W35 tournament.

Leading the tournament is world No. 229 Viktoria Hruncakova of Slovakia. The 27-year-old has enjoyed success on Canadian soil, reaching the semi-final of the Saguenay National Bank Challenger and the Tevlin Challenger in 2024. Hruncakova is still searching for her first singles title this season. Other top international players competing in Quebec City include Switzerland’s Jenny Duerst (No. 2 seed) and Japan’s Haruna Arakawa (No. 3 seed).

Ariana Arseneault of Richmond Hill, Ontario, will be the top-ranked Canadian in Quebec’s capital. In July, the 23-year-old reached her first WTA 1000 main draw, defeating Australia’s Destanee Aiava in the qualifying round of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montreal. Alexandra Vagramov, a Westminster, British Columbia native, completes the Canadian contingent in the main draw. Earlier this season, she reached the quarter-final in singles at the Granby National Bank Championships, a W75 tournament, and was crowned champion in doubles.

A total of nine other Canadians will compete in the qualifying round, including the country’s top junior, Nadia Lagaev. Fellow Canadians Raphaelle Lacasse, Ana Grubor, Anna Tabunschchyk, Naomi Xu, Isabella Marton, Andrea Cabio, Selin Vakalapudi, and Françoise Abanda will also be looking to qualify for the main draw.

The tournament, organized and managed by the Aliassime Tennis Academy team, precedes the Saguenay National Bank Challenger, creating an even more attractive sequence of tournaments for players, especially for Canadian athletes.
