Arop Will Defend His World Title

Winning a world championship is hard. Winning two in a row is even harder.

Like every foot race, it happens one step at a time.

Marco Arop took one more step towards defending his World Athletics Championships 800 metres title by winning his semi-final heat in a time of 1:45.09.

Arop will take on an all-star field in the men’s 800 metre final Saturday night.

Catch up on all the action from Day 6 at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
