OVERVIEW:
Golf Canada is seeking a motivated and results-driven Manager of Partnership Development to support new partner acquisition efforts. This role will play a key part in identifying and securing strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and enhance the organization’s commercial portfolio. The successful candidate will bring experience in sponsorship sales, brand alignment, and corporate partnerships, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across industries.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
- New Partner Acquisition: Identify and pursue new corporate partners, aligning brands with Golf Canada’s assets, events, and programs.
- Sales Strategy & Execution:Â Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies that generate new business opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights and industry trends.
- Prospect Development:Â Research and maintain a pipeline of potential partners in key categories, preparing tailored proposals that address their marketing objectives.
- Partnership Renewals:Â Support the partnership renewal process by preparing proposals, maintaining consistency across sales materials, partner communication, and ensuring long-term value creation for existing partnerships.
- Revenue Generation:Â Deliver on annual revenue goals through effective sponsorship sales and activation support.
- Relationship Management:Â Build and nurture strong relationships with brand marketers and decision-makers to create long-term partnership value.
- Negotiation & Contracting:Â Assist with negotiations, deal structuring, and contract processes to ensure successful partnership execution.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership:Â Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, events, and operations, to develop and deliver innovative sponsorship assets and activation plans.
- Market Intelligence:Â Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging sponsorship opportunities to position Golf Canada as an attractive partner.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
- Experience:Â Minimum of 4-6 years of success in sponsorship sales, business development, or partnership marketing, preferably in sports, entertainment, or a related industry.
- Network:Â Existing or growing relationships with corporate brands, agencies, and decision-makers in the sponsorship landscape.
- Sales Acumen:Â Demonstrated ability to close sponsorship deals and achieve sales targets.
- Negotiation Skills:Â Familiarity with contract negotiations and deal execution.
- Strategic Thinking:Â Ability to translate broader partnership strategies into actionable sales opportunities.
- Communication Skills:Â Strong presentation, storytelling, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.
- Passion for Golf & Sports:Â Knowledge of and enthusiasm for golf, sports marketing, and the Canadian sports industry.
- Demonstrated Presentation Skills:Â Ability to develop and deliver compelling sales materials using tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, Canva, or other presentation software
NOTE: The Golf Canada’s regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, namely Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day and 5 days a week including a one-hour lunch. However, the demands of your position may mean that your hours of work will vary, may be irregular and will be the hours required to meet the objectives of your employment.
