Canadian Athletes Aim for the Podium at Fourth ISU Junior Grand Prix

OTTAWA, ON (Sept. 8, 2025) – The international figure skating season continues this week as ten Canadian athletes travel to Bangkok, Thailand, for the fourth stop on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) circuit, taking place Sept. 9–13, 2025. Canada will be represented by one entry in both the women’s and men’s events, and two entries in pairs and ice dance.

Leading the delegation are two-time Grand Prix Final junior pair bronze medallists, Jazmine Desrochers and Kieran Thrasher, who will have their sights set on the podium after taking home silver from the 2025 NextGen Competition. They will be joined in the pairs event by Beau Callahan and Vladimir Furman, a newly formed team making their first JGP appearance together.

In ice dance, Charlie Anderson and Cayden Dawson will look to build on their recent silver medal performance in Ankara, Turkey, as they take the ice in Thailand. Also in ice dance, Victoria Carandiuc and Andrei Carandiuc will jump into the JGP season following their performance at the Lake Placid International Ice Dance Competition in August.

The men’s event will feature Anthony Paradis, the senior men’s national silver medallist. Paradis, who captured bronze earlier this season at both the NextGen Competition and the Cranberry Cup International, will also start his JGP season in Bangkok.

Rounding out the Canadian delegation is Victoria Barakhtina who will make her JGP debut after earning the women’s silver medal at the NextGen Competition in August.
