Isabella Holmgren Wins Tour de l’Avenir Femmes Prologue

OTTAWA, ON (Aug. 23, 2025) – Isabella Holmgren of Orillia, ON, stormed to victory in the Women’s Prologue at the 2025 Tour de l’Avenir Femmes, clocking a time of 8:43.57 on the steep 3 km uphill course in Tignes, France. Her dominant ride earned her a 16.64-second lead over second-place finisher Eleanora Ciabocco (Italy) and marked a commanding start to one of the most prestigious U23 stage races in the world.

Holmgren, racing for Canada, outpaced a field that included many talented U23 riders. The result showed her climbing strength and race-day execution, as she now carries the leader’s jersey into Stage 1. Her win in Tignes positions her as a serious contender for the overall classification in a race that features WorldTour riders, development riders, multiple summit finishes and a final mountain time trial.

Cycling Canada congratulates Isabella on her prologue victory and looks forward to following her progress throughout the week as she represents Canada on the international stage.
