Job Title: National Excellence Program (NEP) Therapist
Supervisor: High Performance Director (HPD) for Women’s Indoor

Description:
Volleyball Canada is looking for a NEP Therapist to provide therapy support in training and competition for the NEP Team and National Excellence Program from September to December 2025. There is a an internal incumbent in consideration for this position.
Hours per week: approximately 30 hrs
Level of Authority:
Reports to: High-Performance Director (HPD) for Women’s Indoor
Supervises: Responsibilities as agreed upon in the work plan
Key Responsibilities:
Basic responsibilities to include but not limited to
- Clinical Support
- Serve as the primary therapist for NEP athletes in all aspects of injury prevention, acute care, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning
- Perform clinical assessments within your professional scope and develop evidence-informed treatment and management plans
- Provide therapy services including manual therapy, modalities, exercise prescription, taping, and functional return-to-play progressions
- Contribute to athlete screening and education initiatives related to injury prevention and wellness
- Implement concussion protocols, and collaborate with other medical professionals where required for diagnosis and clearance
2. Training & Competition Coverage
- Provide on-court coverage for all training sessions and competitions, including emergency care, first response, and taping/prep support.
- Travel as required with the NEP team.
- Ensure medical and therapy equipment is organized, stocked, and functional for daily use.
3. Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with coaches, administration, and other sports medicine and science providers within the Volleyball Canada Integrated support team, and with affiliated service providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical information and medical files on players and communicate to Program Coaches, VC Senior staff, and IST staff as appropriate.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up to date electronic medical records (EMR).
- Adhere to any professional codes of conduct appropriate to your profession or other codes of conduct that might be deemed applicable to sports science and sports medicine practitioners in general.
5. Additional Duties
- Contribute to team meetings, wellness initiatives, and program planning as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by Volleyball Canada.
Requirements:
Candidates must have the following:
- Professional liability insurance
- Valid Sport First Responder Certification and/or valid CPR-HCP and AED Certifications
- Degree in Athletic Therapy and/or Advanced degree (M.Sc.) in Physiotherapy
- Sport Physiotherapy Certificate or Diploma (SPC), FCAMPT, Acupuncture and IMS certification would be considered assets.
Term:
This is a term contract position from approximately September 3rd 2025 until December 18th 2025
Compensation:
An hourly pay rate of $25-$35/hour based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
