Canada’s Lucas Zhou Wins Bronze at UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Denmark

OTTAWA, ON (August 5, 2025) — Canadian junior rider Lucas Zhou delivered a thrilling performance at the 2025 UCI BMX Racing World Championships, claiming bronze in the Junior Men’s final on Sunday in Copenhagen.

Zhou, who hails from British Columbia, advanced through the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds in tight battles, qualifying “on the bubble” in both heats. In the high-stakes final, Zhou launched a remarkable comeback, climbing from eighth place out of the gate to cross the line in third, securing Canada’s only medal.

Zhou says, “I’m super honored to have placed bronze, racing against some of the fastest Junior Elite riders in the world. It was an amazing experience and I’m proud to represent our country on the podium.”

The event drew the world’s top BMX racers across the world. Zhou’s result highlights a strong showing from Canada’s next generation of BMX talent.
