Biathlon Canada is the national governing body for biathlon in Canada. We are seeking skilled individuals who have a passion for sport to join our Board of Directors. This is an exciting time to become a member of Biathlon Canada’s governance board as we enter the Olympic season with Milan Cortina 2026 in February and begin the creation of our new strategic plan for 2026 onwards. We invite motivated candidates to apply to contribute to our growing sport. Trailblaze with us!

The Board of Directors is composed of between seven (7) and twelve (12) Directors according to the Biathlon Canada By-Laws. Biathlon Canada Directors are elected to the Board for a two-year term. Four (4) Directors’ terms expire this year and three (3) are eligible to run again. That leaves up to six (6) positions available for election at the Biathlon Canada Annual Meeting on October 15, 2025. More details on serving on the Biathlon Canada Board of Directors can be found in the Board of Directors Information Package.

Biathlon Canada strives to maintain gender balance on its Board of Directors with the By-Laws specifying a limit of no more than 60% of one gender. We are also committed to building a diverse Board reflective of Canadian society and our Biathlon community and we encourage people who identify as the following to apply:

  • people who identify as persons with a disability,
  • people from a visible minority group,
  • people who identify as LGBTQ2S+,
  • people who identify as non-binary, and
  • people who are indigenous.

We are further committed to having a Board made up of people from different regions of the country with a broad spectrum of skills. The Board Information package outlines the core competencies to be ideally reflected in the Board as a whole, with the following areas being of specific interest at this Board election:

  • Legal and risk management expertise;
  • Marketing or branding expertise;
  • Fundraising expertise in the not-for-profit sector; or
  • Financial management expertise, ideally with a CPA.

Interested individuals are encouraged to complete an application with the components outlined below no later than Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 17h00 (MDT). The elections will take place at the 2025 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 17h00 (MDT).
