July 3rd, 2025 (Montreal) – Diving Plongeon Canada is proud to unveil the athletes who will represent Canada at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, taking place in Singapore from July 11 to August 3. With a roster full of rising stars and a few highly experienced divers, Team Canada is ready to gain valuable experience and leave its mark on the international stage.

Among the team are Matt Cullen and Benjamin Tessier, bronze medalists in the Men’s 10m synchro at the 2025 Windsor World Cup. Both will be making their senior world championships debut, with Cullen bringing his experience as a 2022 world junior champion on 10m.
Cullen expressed his excitement to represent Canada stating, “Diving is an amazing sport and having the opportunity to represent this country is incredible–as well”.
“I want to perform the best I can. In synchro, Ben and I really want to win a medal.! Our ultimate goal is to perform well, not just to participate.! Individually, I hope to make the finals and show the best I’m capable of,” said Matt Cullen.
On the women’s side, Amélie-Laura Jasmin and Sonya Palkhivala, silver medalists in the Women’s 3m synchro at Windsor, are also preparing for their first senior world championships. Notably, Palkhivala is looking to make a – successful comeback to the world stage after recovering from major knee surgery that kept her out of competition for a year. She previously earned three medals at the 2022 World Junior Championships.
Fans can also look forward to performances by Carson Paul, competing at his second world championships after his debut at the Doha worlds in 2024, as well as Olympian Kate Miller, who brings a wealth of experience –as a result of appearances at the 2023 world championships in Fukuoka, the 2024 world championships in Doha, and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Margo Erlam, also an Olympian, returns to the world championships for the first time since Budapest 2022.
“My goal for Singapore is to enjoy myself, first, and have a little bit of redemption from Budapest 2022. I –finished 22nd so I’m hoping to at least make semifinals and finals. ” said Erlam, who grew up in Calgary.
A strong group of first-time world championship athletes will also take the spotlight. Katelyn Fung, a standout from London, Ontario, will make her senior world championships debut after competing on the World Cup circuit for the first time this spring. At 21, she brings a dynamic mix of talent and determination.
Joining her is Tazman Abramowicz, another promising diver eager to gain experience in his first senior world championships appearance.
Diving Canada will also be represented by three high divers in Singapore: Simone Leathead, Molly Carlson, and Michaël Foisy.
Simone Leathead, a rising star from Montreal who switched to high diving in 2022, marks her second World Championships appearance and sets the stage for further progress in Singapore.
She impressed with a fourth-place finish at the 2023 world championships and recently stepped on the podium at the Poligano A Mare stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series.
Molly Carlson, a regular on the Red Bull Cliff Diving circuit podium, earned silver in Doha (her second consecutive Worlds silver, following 2023).
Finally, Michaël Foisy is continuing to build his high diving career after competing at the 2023 world championships and remains poised to showcase his steady development. Singapore will be another great opportunity for him to showcase his progress among the world’s elite.
With a mix of debut appearances and returning talent, the Canadian team heads to Singapore with an eye on growth, experience, and strong performances against the world’s best.
A temporary venue at the Singapore Sports Hub and iconic locations like Sentosa will showcase the action.
