Skate Canada Names 24 Athletes & Three Synchronized Skating Teams to 2025-2026 National Team

OTTAWA, ON (July 3, 2025) – Skate Canada is excited to announce the athletes and synchronized skating teams that will make up its national team for the 2025-2026 season. The team includes five men, three women, four pair teams, four ice dance teams, and three synchronized skating teams.

The team will see many returning athletes including 2025 World Championships ice dance silver medallists Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier and 2025 Four Continents Championships pair silver medallists Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps.” New faces added to the team this season are Katherine Medland Spence in women’s, David Li in men’s, and Fiona Bombardier and Benjamin Mimar in pairs.

To be named to the national team, skaters must have finished in the top three in the senior men, women, pair or ice dance disciplines at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships and/or be assigned to a 2025 ISU Grand Prix event at the ISU Grand Prix Selection meeting and must be competing during the 2025-2026 season.

The synchronized skating team is comprised of the synchronized skating teams that finished in the top three in the senior discipline at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships.
