Third Straight Win for Canada at XI Pan American Championships

Montería, Colombia – The Quick Story: 

Team Canada continued their undefeated run at the XI Pan American Championships with a 7–0 win over Argentina on Saturday night. 

Key Moment:

While Canada’s offense has been firing on all cylinders, Larissa Franklin’s bat stood out at the plate. Batting third, Franklin went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored a run, including a triple to spark the lineup. 

Notes:   

  • 7 runs on 7 hits with 8 walks drawn. 
  • Larissa Franklin led the offense, going 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and a triple. 
  • Emma Entzminger scored twice, drove in 2 RBIs, and also drew 2 walks. 
  • Kianna Jones added an RBI double. 
  • Janet Leung had a hit, scored twice, and drove in a run. 
  • Dawn Bodrug earned the win, throwing 4.0 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 7. 
  • Morgan Reimer closed the game with 1.0 scoreless inning and 3 strikeouts.

Team Canada returns to the field today (June 29) for Game 4 against Peru at 4:30 pm COT / 5:30 pm EDT.
