Canada’s U-15 Women’s National Team Takes Their First Win Over Singapore at the 2025 WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup

Milan, Italy – The Quick Story:   

Team Canada took their first win at the 2025 WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup over Singapore 8-3 to improve to 1-1 in the tournament. A steady offensive performance paired with strong pitching from Kenzie Newman led Canada to victory in the seven-inning matchup. 

Key Moment:  

Canada’s offense struck early and consistently, racking up 12 hits and capitalizing on key opportunities at the plate. Newman pitched five strong innings, allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out five to earn the win. 

Notes:   

  • Sara MacDonald went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, scoring once. 
  • McKenzie Howard also tallied a triple, going 2-for-4 at the plate. 
  • Kenzie Newman helped her own cause, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. 
  • Jayden Girling drove in two runs, including one on a sacrifice fly. 
  • Robyn McIsaac continued her consistency, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, and two runs scored. 
  • Kenzie Newman (W) pitched 5.0 innings, allowing just 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk, and striking out 5. 
  • Chelsea Tan and Jordyn Mackenzie closed out the final two innings. 

Box Score: Canada 8 vs. Singapore 3 

Team Canada returns to the field today (June 28) for Game 3 against the United States at 7:30 pm CEST / 1:30 pm EDT.
