National Team Selection Camp set for Ottawa

OTTAWA, ONT. (June 19, 2025) – Wheelchair Basketball Canada will host a National Team selection camp at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ont., from June 24-29, 2025.

The six-day camp will bring together 30 athletes for a combination of on- and off-court sessions as our High Performance staff make their final evaluations for roster selections ahead of this summer’s international competitions, including the 2025 IWBF Americas Cup.

The camp will focus on further developing high-performance habits and fostering strong, supportive team relationships — all while ensuring the well-being of each athlete remains a top priority.

“The camp at Algonquin College will provide an opportunity for our staff to evaluate our National Team athlete pool ahead of final roster selections for this summer’s competitions,” said Jeff Dunbrack, Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “Additionally, it will allow our athletes and coaches a chance to implement technical and tactical plans over the six days in preparation for upcoming games.”

Friday, June 27, will serve as a media day at Algonquin College – members of the media are invited to attend the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre for interview, photos and b-roll opportunities with National Team athletes.

Media are asked to RSVP to Dhiren Mahiban at dmahiban@wheelchairbasketball.ca.
