Baseball Canada – OTTAWA (May 31st, 2019) -It’s that time of year where 64 Division 1 baseball programs begin their quest for Omaha, Nebraska, home of the College World Series, where a national champion will be crowned at the end of June.
Among the group of players vying for college baseball supremacy are 26 Canadians scattered amongst 17 different Division 1 programs with Regionals set to begin today at 16 different sites.
The 26 players include representation from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Québec with 13 of those players having spent time with the Junior National Team program.
Sacramento State leads the way with six Canadians on their roster while Indiana State has three along with coach Jordan Tiegs of Woodstock, Ontario. The University of Cincinnati and Illinois State each have two Canadians on their respective rosters.
