Gymnastics Canada Partners with Working With Parents In Sport to Enhance Support for Gymnasts, Coaches, and Parents

Ottawa, ON (April 25, 2025) Gymnastics Canada (GymCan) is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Working With Parents In Sport (WWPIS), aimed at fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for gymnasts, parents, and coaches.

This initiative will help young gymnasts reach their full potential—both in their sport and beyond—by strengthening the relationships between key stakeholders.

In the first phase of the partnership, WWPIS and GymCan will roll out a series of specially designed workshops over the next year, focusing on the high-performance environment. These workshops will equip parents and coaches with the knowledge and strategies needed to support young athletes effectively.

Additionally, all parents and coaches involved in performance programs will gain exclusive access to a customized WWPIS/GymCan platform, providing unlimited resources tailored to their needs.

“We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Gymnastics Canada in creating the best possible environment for young gymnasts” said Gordon MacLelland, CEO of WWPIS. “Every stakeholder plays a crucial role in athlete development, and we look forward to working together to build a truly supportive program.”

“This initiative is a fantastic addition to Gymnastics Canada, said Dr. Kacey Neely, Director of Safe Sport at Gymnastics Canada. “We recognize the vital role parents play in the gymnastics journey and providing them with education and resources from WWPIS is a positive step toward a safer and stronger gymnastics culture. We are confident this will mark the beginning of a long and impactful partnership.”

WWPIS already collaborates with leading gymnastics organizations worldwide, including British Gymnastics, Singapore Gymnastics, Welsh Gymnastics, and Gymnastics Australia.
