The Research Assistant will report to the Research Specialist at SIRC. As part of the Research and Partnerships Team, you’ll help to develop and execute a range of research, evaluation and knowledge mobilization services for Canadian sport and physical activity researchers and organizations. You’ll also support the creation of evidence-based content (e.g., infographics, videos, blogs, social media reels/posts) to educate, inform and inspire the Canadian sport community.
The Details:
- Position Type: Full Time (2 or 4-month contract).
- Application Deadline: May 13th, 2025.
- Expected Start Date: June 2, 2025.
- Work Location: Remote or Hybrid (based in Ottawa-Gatineau, House of Sport).
- Reports To: Research Specialist.
- Compensation: Remuneration commensurate with experience.
- Must be between 15 and 30 years old, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, and legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) to be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Job Description:
- Assist with the creation of knowledge translation pieces for Canadian sport research.
- Create engaging, evidence-based content for the Canadian sport community.
- Prepare website content.
- Provide ongoing support for key facets of SIRC’s strategic objectives.
Required Skills:
- Recently completed or working towards a university degree in a related field.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with a proven track record of writing engaging, credible content.
- Artistic and/or creative.
- Familiarity with Canva/Adobe and graphic design principles.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PPT).
- Team player who can work independently.
- Willingness to tackle challenges and develop initiatives.
- Motivated/self-starter.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- Comfortable using WordPress.
- Sport background.
