Who we are looking for

Mental Performance Consultant – Remote

(Equivalent to approximately 25 days per year)

We are seeking to expand our mental performance servicing with a qualified mental performance practitioner to support potential domestic training camps and competitions. The purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with the Lead Mental Performance Consultant for the Women’s Artistic program to provide mental performance support to a variety of targeted and developmental national team athletes. Specific responsibilities will vary by demand. Some examples include:

  • Deliver mental performance education sessions to athletes and coaches.
  • Provide individual mental performance support to identified athletes, and/or group mental performance support to identified training groups.
  • Work with the Lead MPC, coaches and high-performance staff to identify mental performance support needs and develop proactive mental performance development plans.
  • Collaborate as part of an Integrated Support Team, communicating effectively with coaches and other IST members to provide an integrated approach to optimizing/enhancing athlete health and performance.
  • Maintain an accurate record of work conducted.
  • Adhere to professional codes of conduct.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to personal professional development.

Who you are

  • Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Sport Psychology or related field.
  • Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) accreditation in good standing.
  • Must hold Professional Liability Insurance.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a high-performance sport environment.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate both collaboratively and with a high degree of independence.
  • Valid SafeSport Training.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Dual-credentialed is not required but considered an asset.
