Judo Canada – Montreal, July 2, 2019 – A few special guests of the 2019 Montreal Grand Prix will be available to meet with the media on Thursday, July 4, 2019, following the draw.

  • Competitor at the Montreal Grand Prix, +100 kg, representing France
  • Greatest judoka in history
  • 2-time Olympic champion (2012 and 2016) and bronze medallist at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008
  • 10-Time World champion

Nadia Comaneci:

  • Queen of the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976 (5 gold medals)
  • International Judo Federation Ambassador
  • 9-time Olympic medallist (5 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze)
  • 4-time World Championships medallist (2 gold, 2 silver)

Marius Vizer:

  • President of the International Judo Federation since 2007 (vice-president 2000-2007)
  • Athlete representing Romania from 1974 to 1982
  • Coach from 1982 to 1984
  • Romanian military academy’s graduate, majoring in chemistry

Kosei Inoue:

  • Head coach of the Japanese men’s team
  • Olympic champion in Sidney in 2000 (defeated Nicolas Gill in the finale)
  • 3-time World Championships medallist

Nicolas Gill:

  • CEO and High Performance director at Judo Canada
  • 2-time Olympic medallist
  • 3-time World Championships medallist
