The 2025 Canadian Ringette Championships (CRC) are fast approaching and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this elite event in the heart of our Nation’s Capital. The top teams in U16, U19 and National Ringette League categories will battle it out to be crowned champions at the end of the six day long event.
The 45th iteration of the championship is expected to bring over 10,000 attendees to the region, along with a large online audience through social media and digital broadcasting. We’ll be hosting 49 teams and over 900 athletes.
The event will be centered at the Ray Friel arena and the Richcraft Sensplex with the finals taking place at the Slush Puppie Centre in Gatineau. We are proud to have our opening ceremonies and popular Skills Competition at the Arena at TD Place on March 30th. While our closing ceremony, where the All-Star line-ups and the annual National Ringette League awards will be announced, will cap off the week at the University of Ottawa on April 5th.
The 2025 CRC marks a historic first for the sport. The championship will be in Ottawa in back-to-back years, so Ringette Canada will return to the capital for the 2026 Championships. This allows the event to become more established in the community and give more value to our partners and sponsors who are invested in supporting us. We want to shape the narrative for women’s sport in Canada to show young girls that their dreams are worth investing in.
This year, we are honoured to bestow a new trophy on the National Ringette League division named for the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada. Ringette Canada is incredibly proud to have this new trophy endorsed by the Governor General and it will be the first time a National Ringette League Trophy has featured the Inuktitut language. We will be welcoming the Governor General to the finals on April 5th at the Slush Puppie Centre for the inaugural presentation.
For the first time ever the entire championship will be streamed on the CBC as well as TELUS Optik and Ringette Canada’s YouTube channel. This widespread coverage speaks to the growth and popularity of the sport.
