MEDIA ADVISORY: Denis Shapovalov Tennis Clinic and Media Availability

Tennis Canada – WHAT: Denis Shapovalov will be participating in a tennis clinic with local kids, which will be followed by his pre-Rogers Cup media availability.

WHEN: Saturday, August 3
10 a.m. – Tennis Clinic with young kids from Centre Lajeunesse (Court 7)
                11 a.m. – Pre-Tournament Media Availability (Press Conference Room)
WHERE: IGA Stadium

Shapovalov returns to Montreal for first time since his epic run at the 2017 Rogers Cup, where he defeated top-seeded Rafael Nadal, eventually becoming the youngest player to ever make the tournaments semi-finals round. To say thank you to Montreal and the community that embraced him during that deep run, he’s hosting a local youth tennis clinic leading into this year’s Rogers Cup. By giving back to the community, the young Canadian hopes to inspire young kids to continue playing tennis or to pick up a racquet for the very first time.

Centre Lajeunesse is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to create a stimulating environment for the citizens of the Villeray neighborhood. They offer a varied programming of activities available to the public, including a number of sports related activities.

Those wishing to attend the tennis clinic are asked to confirm their presence.

An accreditation for the tournament is required to gain access to the Stadium.
