The 2019 Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup, U-17 Cup, and Challenge & Jubilee Trophy competitions kicked off in Edmonton, AB; Charlottetown, PEI; and St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador respectively on 9 October.
The Challenge Trophy competition saw a pair of former champions earning victories. Ontario’s 2006 Challenge Trophy winners Ottawa St. Anthony earned a 2:0 victory over Nova Scotia with Alberta’s 2016 winners Edmonton Scottish defeating host Newfoundland & Labrador 5:2.
In Jubilee Trophy action, defending champions Scarborough GS United drew home side Newfoundland 2 1:1 while Newfoundland & Labrador Champions Holy Cross fell 3:1 to Alberta. 2016 Champions Royal Beauport earned a 1:0 victory over Nova Scotia.
On the Boys’ side of the U-17 Cup draw, Quebec’s CS St. Laurent opened with a win, as did Ontario’s Woodbridge SC, Mountain United FC from BC, and Alberta’s Calgary Foothills. In the Girls’ U-17 Cup championship, Ontario’s Ottawa TFC Academy, Lakeshore SC of Quebec, and Nova Scotia’s Halifax County United earned opening day results.
