CAAWS Announces Successful Election Of Wallace And Shanks To Board Of Directors

CAAWS – CAAWS is excited to announce the results of its 2019 Board of Directors Election. New to the CAAWS board is Camille Wallace, who has been elected for a two-year term. Rebecca Shanks was also successfully re-elected to her position as Director-At-Large.

“We are thrilled to introduce Camille and announce Rebecca’s continued commitment to the organization,” said Nathalie Cook, Board Chair. “We were highly impressed by the caliber of the candidates who expressed interest in joining our board and in supporting our mission and are very excited about the direction we’ve chosen.”

Camille Wallace is a digital marketing professional who is passionate about positively influencing the lives of future generations. In her current role at the Canadian Olympic Committee, Camille leads digital partnerships. She focuses on monetizing Team Canada’s digital properties and developing strategies that leverage digital to provide value to sponsorship deals. She is a member of The Black Professionals in Technology Network and Women in Sports and Events professional networks. During her formative years, Camille was heavily involved in athletics an as athlete, seeing first-hand the positive impact sport participation can have on young women.

“The addition of Camille to our board, with her expertise in digital marketing and revenue generation, is consistent with our strategic focus on strengthening our reach and engagement,” said Allison Sandmeyer-Graves, CEO. “Her perspective will be invaluable to CAAWS as a young professional in the sport system with a demonstrated commitment to inclusion.”

Wallace and Shanks will be joining current Board members Nathalie Cook, Tanya Mruck, Althea Arsenault, Bill Cooper, Deidra Dionne, Rochelle Grayson, and Leanne Nicolle

As of the September Annual General Meeting, Dr. Cheri Bradish ended her final term as Director-at-Large. Elected in 2013, Dr. Bradish was the longest-standing director present at this year’s AGM. CAAWS would like to recognize her significant contributions to the organization over the past six years and is grateful that she will be continuing to work with the organization as co-chair of the Impact Research Committee.
