Reimagine land acknowledgements in Canadian sport — moving beyond words to inspire true reconciliation

September 24, 2024 12:00 PM EDT

Join the Sport North Federation and the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC) in a vital conversation on enhancing the impact of land acknowledgements in Canadian sport. While these acknowledgements have become commonplace, they often lack the mindful consideration and intention necessary to truly inspire reconciliation.

This webinar features Michelle Good, a Cree writer, lawyer, and advocate for residential school survivors. With over twenty-five years of experience working with Indigenous organizations and a profound literary voice, Michelle will guide sport leaders in crafting and delivering land acknowledgements with greater purpose and meaning. Be part of this important discussion and help raise the bar on how we recognize and honor Indigenous lands in sport.
