(OTTAWA, ONT.) – Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) welcomes Jesse McNalley as the organization’s NextGen Player Development and Recruitment Coordinator.
McNalley has previously worked with WBC’s Senior National Teams, including as the organization’s performance analyst at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, where Team Canada finished fourth in the men’s and women’s competitions.
“We are excited to bring Jesse on board as WBC’s NextGen Player Development and Recruitment Coordinator,” said High Performance Director Jeff Dunbrack. “Planning for the next two Paralympic Games began after play in Paris, and Jesse will play a significant part in ensuring roster depth for Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032. Jesse will focus on formalizing the pathway for our NextGen athletes to be in a position to compete for roster spots on the National Team.”
Based in Toronto, McNalley will collaborate with WBC’s clubs and Provincial Sport Organizations in identifying, educating, developing, and recruiting athletes who aspire to represent Team Canada in Wheelchair Basketball at the Paralympic Games.
“I enjoy working one-on-one with younger athletes,” said McNalley. “This role is a perfect fit for me since I know a lot of our NextGen athlete pool already. This is a chance to help make an impact on future National Teams.”
McNalley will work closely with WBC’s High-Performance Director, the Head Coaches of our NextGen teams, and the Senior National Team coaching staff to enhance the understanding of the pathway to the Senior National Teams.
