Canada finishes third in the fifth edition of the Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship. The team scored six goals throughout the tournament, with contributions from Isabella Lanzillotta, Ailish Hennessy, Gabriela Istocki, Christ-Mayron Brou, and Alyssa McLeod, who netted two goals.
This achievement adds another podium finish to Canada’s participation in the Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship, including a first-place finish in 2014, second-place finishes in 2016 and 2022, and now a third-place finish in 2024.
The Concacaf Girls’ Under-15 Championship provides an important development step towards future Concacaf and FIFA youth competitions at the U-17 and U-20 levels. More importantly, it serves as a step towards competing at the international level for Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team at Concacaf, FIFA and Olympic tournaments. Notably, 12 players who previously competed at the Concacaf Girls’ Under-15 Championship have been called up to the Women’s National Team, including current players Julia Grosso (2014), Jordyn Huitema (2014 and 2016), Jayde Riviere (2016), and Jade Rose (2018).
