Montréal, April 27, 2024 – Canada’s divers will depart Dresden, Germany, with an additional medal thanks to Claude-Olivier Lisé-Coderre, who captured the silver medal in the Group B 1m event at the International Invitational on Sunday.
“I couldn’t ask for more than what I accomplished today. I’m really proud of my performance. Yesterday, my performance was difficult and disappointing, but I think I learned a lot, both mentally and technically. I used all of that to bounce back today,” explained Lisé-Coderre.
Following the preliminary rounds, the diver from Lac-Brome held provisional second place, with 373.00 points. “In the preliminaries, my first two dives weren’t all that great, so I told myself I’d start over from scratch in the third round. After that, I felt more confident, and things went well,” added the athlete, who finished tenth in yesterday’s Group B platform final.
For today’s final, he gathered up his confidence, and earned his best score of the session on his very first dive, with 50.40 points. He remained consistent throughout the round, finishing behind Ukraine’s Valerii Malieiev (378.75 points) and ahead of Germany’s Finn Awe (372.05 points).
“I think that in the future, I’ll need to have a bit more confidence in myself, and that’s something I’m working on. I also think I’ll need to raise the level of difficulty.”
In the same event, Kash Tarasoff finished sixth with a total score of 353.40 points.
One individual top five for Arnaud Corbeil
Arnaud Corbeil took part in the Group A 10m final. Provisionally fifth after the preliminary rounds, he managed to move up a spot in the final, finishing fourth with a total of 497.75 points.

On the women’s side, Mathilde Laberge represented Canada in the Group A 3m event.
After her first dive, she held the sixth-place spot. She remained in that sixth position until her final plunge, for which she earned her best score of the session (59.40), bringing her total to 383.20 points.
Emily Deml of Germany secured gold in the event with 417.55 points. She was followed by Signe Stahl of Switzerland (404.65) and Alexandria Sando of Australia (384.65).
