Ottawa, April 27, 2024 – It is with great sadness that Water Polo Canada shares the news that former President of Water Polo Saskatchewan and, later, Water Polo Canada, Victor Tetreault, has passed away.
Born in Saskatchewan, Victor Tetreault was very involved in water polo, as were his four children, Michelle, Darcy, Myron and Monique, who all played at the national level.
Aside from being a long-time volunteer within the Canadian water polo community, Victor had a successful career as a high school French and Math teacher. He also worked with the Official Minority Language Office of the Saskatchewan Department of Education, followed by a senior role with the Council of Ministers of Education (Canada), and then became the bilingual Chair of the Board of Referees of the Employment Insurance Commission.
“On behalf of Water Polo Canada’s community, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Victor Tetreault’s family and friends,” said Water Polo Canada President, Kathleen Dawson. “Victor’s legacy and contribution to water polo have helped to grow the sport and will be remembered forever.”
His obituary is available here.
