CPC Statement on Eric Rodrigues being elected to APC Athletes’ Council

Tokyo 2020 Paralympian competing at his second Parapan Am Games

Santiago, November 23, 2023 – It was announced today that Canada’s Eric Rodrigues (wheelchair rugby) has been elected to the Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) Athletes’ Council. Voting took place this week during the Parapan Am Games in Santiago.

Statement from Karen O’Neill, CEO, Canadian Paralympic Committee:

“Congratulations to Eric on his election to the APC Athletes’ Council. Athlete leadership and representation is critical for the advancement and elevation of the Paralympic Movement, and Eric is a strong leader with a real pulse on what matters to the athletes and a passion for making Para sport the best and most impactful it can be. We know he will be a very effective ambassador for all Para athletes in the Americas and contribute to advancing Para sport across the region. We wish him the best in this new role, and look forward to working with him more as an athlete leader.”
