Call for Expressions of Interest: Task Force Members

International Coach eLearning module + Enhanced Screening

On May 11th, 2023, the Government of Canada announced new initiatives to enhance safe sport practices and work towards a more accountable and safer sport system.

The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to confirm that through this announcement, funding has been provided to ensure that all development and national team coaches attending international events are thoroughly screened and have the appropriate coaching certifications.

As part of this project, the CAC will develop training for international coaches to support the integration of international coaches into coaching roles in Canada. The module will ensure the onboarding to support an understanding of values, ethics, and coaching expectations in the Canadian context.

The funding will also allow the CAC to develop, pilot, and implement an enhanced screening process for coaches that can be applied throughout the sport system in Canada.

The purpose, roles and responsibilities, and project timelines for the task force are outlined in the Terms of Reference.
