Parana, Argentina – The U23 Men’s National Softball Team faced a tough Australia team in its final Super Round game of the 2023 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup. The Aussie Steelers beat Canada 4-0 in seven innings.

Starting in the circle for Team Canada was Reese Yantzi (Shakespeare, Ont.)

Australia opened the scoring early in the bottom of the fourth inning with a homer to deep right centre, scoring three.

Canada made a pitching change in the bottom of the first inning, bringing in Riley Manion (Napanee, Ont.), for Yantzi. Manion pitched five innings, allowing only one run, with 11 strikeouts.

Australia added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when they scored on a wild pitch.

Jordan Hudson (Saskatoon, Sask.), came in to relieve Manion in the bottom of the sixth inning.
