Canadian SWNT to hold camp in Japan, participate in Osaka Cup

(TORONTO, ONT.) Wheelchair Basketball Canada announced 10 athletes will participate in a camp from February 7-9, 2023, and compete in the Osaka Cup February 10-12, 2023, in Japan. 

The mix of games and practices over the six days will provide the Senior Women’s National Team with an opportunity to build chemistry and grow together on the court as they prepare for the 2023 season, which includes the IWBF World Championships and the Parapan American Games.

“This camp is an important first step as we prepare for the upcoming season,” said Jeff Dunbrack, Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “The games against Australia, the Netherlands and Japan at the Osaka Cup will allow our team to increase game reps and build chemistry.”

Team Canada’s Osaka Cup Schedule 
Thursday, Feb. 9: Canada vs Australia 11:30 p.m. ET
Friday, Feb. 10: Netherlands vs Canada 8:30 p.m. ET
Saturday, Feb. 11: Japan vs Canada 12:00 a.m. ET
Saturday, Feb. 11: Final Game (TBD)
