2026 CHEF DE MISSION

Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC) has a strong history of providing world class conditions for Canadian athletes and coaches attending the Commonwealth Games. If you are an inspired leader and can ensure that this legacy of excellence continues, we want you as Team Canada’s Chef de Mission for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Commonwealth Sport Canada invites applications for the position of Chef de Mission of the Canadian Commonwealth Games Team in Glasgow, Scotland July 23 to August 2, 2026.
The high-profile role of the Chef is quite broad with political, promotional and operational functions. The duties of the Chef includes, but are not limited to: Participation in the 2026 Commonwealth Games; being a primary spokesperson for the Team; one pre-Games visitation to the host city of Glasgow, Scotland; mission staff selection (in consultation with the Team Canada 2026 Director); partner and stakeholder meetings; mission staff meetings; regular virtual meetings; and in association with the Team Canada 2026 Director the development and implementation of the action plan for the Canadian Team Mission.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate fully in all phases of the team preparation, administration, and completion of the Games Mission, including being available full time to attend the Commonwealth Games from approximately July 13 – August 3, 2026. Considerable time, effort and level of responsibility are required for this position; thus, candidates are asked to carefully consider their nomination/application.
Qualifications and a job description are included with this Call for Applications. Applicants will be evaluated according to the qualifications outlined. The interviews and selection of the Chef de Mission will take place between March 3 – 21, 2025, with the successful candidate expected to be named, and to assume the responsibilities of the role, by April 1, 2025.
