The Manager, Stewardship and Donor Engagement is a dynamic individual who supports revenue generation through best-in-class stewardship of major gift donors, fantastic donor experiences at the Olympic Games and bespoke special events. Reporting to the Director, Fund Development and Operations, the Manager, Stewardship and Donor Engagement is responsible for ensuring donor support fulfills it’s intended purpose, including managing, executing and reporting on COF award programs and donor supported funds. They are a self-starter who is organized, tenacious, process driven and creative with a drive to raise funds and has a keen passion for strategic innovation.
LOCATION
This position will be located in the COC office in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000. We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
- Inform, implement and continually evolve a best-in-class stewardship framework for all donors to the Foundation
- Collaborate with development staff to ensure follow through of all aspects of donor stewardship and items per the framework and outlined in donor agreements
- Ensure donor supported funds and awards are executed are fulfilled and reported on
- Oversee the creation and delivery of impact reporting
- Manage creative and equitable donor recognition opportunities in alignment with industry and COC standards.
- Lead the plan and execution for the COF’s Olympic Games Hospitality program, collaboratively with COC colleagues, while representing donors’ interests
- Manage the Foundation’s overall Awards program to ensure that it meets the needs for the National Sport Organizations (NSOs), athletes, coaches, COC, and Foundation, and meets or exceeds the intended impact of donors.
- Maintain annual award timelines; together with the COC, organize and coordinate selection processes and eligibility requirements, liaise with NSOs, nominees and award recipients
- Work closely with development staff and creatively navigate the prospect’s path to maximize shared benefit and enhance impact to both the Foundation and the Canadian sport system
- Support donor relationships and revenue generating opportunities as they arise through managing a small portfolio of major gift donors.
- Report on all relationship progress and ensure all contact with current and prospective donors is recorded in the database including individual communications, donor inquiries, event attendance and stewardship touches
- Lead the ideation, planning, budgeting, timeline and project oversight of donor recognition and stewardship events
- Work collaboratively with COC colleagues and departments on donor and stakeholder engagement opportunities, maximizing strategic integration and efficiencies
- Manage staff who are working on portions of communications and special events related to stewardship and annual fund development, ensuring full oversight on execution

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably including event management
- Previous experience with a fundraising organization
- Experience coordinating group travel is an asset
