Digital Marketing Specialist

Ottawa Rapid FC joins clubs in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax as a founding member of the Northern Super League, Canada’s first women’s pro soccer league. The Digital Marketing Specialist is a key member of the Brand and Community team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for digital trends and experience in social media management, content creation, and data-driven marketing strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and grow the team’s social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), ensuring consistent branding, voice, and messaging.
  • Produce engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, that resonate with our community.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns, including match day promotions, fan engagement initiatives, and sponsorship activations.
  • Foster and grow a vibrant online community by interacting with fans, responding to comments and messages, and amplifying user-generated content.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of digital campaigns and social media activities, providing regular reports on key metrics to optimize ongoing efforts.
  • Create, schedule, and distribute an email newsletter. This includes writing compelling copy, curating relevant content, and segmenting the audience to ensure maximum engagement.
  • Regularly update and maintain the team’s website. Work closely with web developers to improve functionality and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Other digital marketing tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak and write in French and English fluently.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or related fields.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content management tools.
  • Experience implementing SEO and SEM strategies.
  • Graphic design skills (using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with non-standard working hours (evenings and weekends).

Having these qualifications will set you apart:

  • Degree or diploma in marketing or a related field
  • Great interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills; ability to build relationships with players, staff and external partners to enable collaborations
  • Experience working in sports, entertainment, or lifestyle organizations
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing software
  • Experience with digital analytics platforms
  • Experience using Shopify
  • Passion for soccer and knowledge of the sport is a plus

Job details:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position that requires the candidate to be in Ottawa
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required
  • Salary range is $60,000 – $70,000 plus a performance bonus and comprehensive health benefits.
