- Status: 4-month contract with possible extension
HOURS OF WORK
This full-time position requires working 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) or an equivalent combination totaling 35 hours per week, as agreed upon by the candidate and Golf Canada Foundation. Work can be executed remotely or from the Foundation’s office at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may need to:
- Spend days in-office
- Travel as needed
- Work weekends
OPPORTUNITY
The Development Intern will provide direct support to the Foundation’s Operations Coordinator, and occasionally to the Foundation’s CEO, Senior Director of Development, and Events Director. The primary focus will be on coordinating:
- Non-profit fundraising administration
- Grant and scholarship distribution
- Development of the national junior golf program
The intern will also support fundraising initiatives aimed at reducing barriers to golf for various demographics, such as youth and women. This role involves administrative support for fundraising activities related to the RBC Canadian Open and private donor events. The ideal candidate must be organized and capable of assisting with event set-up and tear-down, which may involve physical tasks.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Assist in the coordination of non-profit fundraising administration
- Participate in the preparation of 2025 Foundation initiatives and events
- Liaise with scholarship/grant committees and external stakeholders, including corporate and individual donors
- Assist in scholarship and grant administration and data management
- Support Foundation event staff with event execution and post-event review
- Assist with 50/50 sales and volunteer administration at the RBC Canadian Open and CPKC Women’s Open
- Support the integrity of the Foundation’s database and assist with managing donor information
- Research fundraising, donor, and grant opportunities for the Foundation and First Tee chapters
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
- Proactive, outgoing, and enthusiastic; ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strict attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong computer, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Access to a remote work location with a strong internet connection
- Willingness to travel during the workweek and/or weekends (primarily GTA/Ontario)
- Fundraising and/or golf knowledge is an asset
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
- Data management experience is a strong asset
- Client or customer service experience is an asset
