PRIMARY DUTIES:
She Plays Golf Festivals 85%
- Support with recruitment of facilities to host festival week events (e.g., golf clinics, networking, and professional development events).
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and management for festival weeks.
- Coordinate packaging, shipping, and tracking of event kits to event sites.
- Assist with participant registration, data collection, and post-event feedback surveys.
- Travel and support delivery of She Plays Golf festivals, including:
- Communication with local organizing committees
- Event set-up and takedown
- Coach and volunteer briefing
- Participant check-in
- Other duties as needed
- Assist with the organization and delivery of She Plays Golf activations at Golf Canada’s Professional Championships, including:
- Junior Skills Challenge National Event
- RBC Canadian Open
- CPKC Women’s Open
- World Junior Girls
- Other initiatives advancing women and girls
Gender Equity Playbook and Women’s Participation Strategy 10%
- Support with administration of Gender Equity Playbook Action Plans by communicating with other internal departments and tracking progress on various initiatives.
- Conduct external/internal environmental scans to support Action Plans.
- Support the delivery and ongoing development of Golf Canada’s Women’s Participation Strategy.
Other Duties 5%
- Collaborate with First Tee and other Golf Canada ‘Grow the Game’ programs to support clinics, activations, and programs with a focus on girls’ participation.
- Other duties as required.
Note: Golf Canada’s regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day and 5 days per week including a one-hour lunch. However, the demands of this position including out of province events may vary on a weekly basis depending on event schedules. Work hours will be adjusted accordingly during non-event weeks.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
- Pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Sport Management, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong ability to take initiative and effectively lead assigned projects with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time management, and administration skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including professional and proficient phone, interpersonal, and email communications.
- Strong decision-making and conflict resolution abilities.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced MS Excel skills.
- Golf knowledge or experience is not required, but a passion and interest in the game of golf, women’s participation in sport, and Golf Canada’s mission is.
- Interest in traveling to other provinces, working off-site, and delivering week-long events.
