Speed Skating Canada – Tickets for the 2018 Short Track Team Selections are now available

Montreal, July 12, 2017 – Exactly one month away from the start of the Short Track Team Selections which will lead to the formation of the Canadian squad that will compete at the 2018 Olympic Games, and which will kick off on August 12 at Maurice-Richard Arena in Montreal, sports fans are invited to buy tickets starting now.

Racing will take place on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13, starting at 1:50 p.m., on Wednesday, August 16 at 7:50 p.m., on Saturday, August 19 as of 1:50 p.m. and on Sunday, August 20 as of 10:50 a.m. The complete schedule is available at http://www.speedskating.ca/events/2018-Short-Track-Team-Selections.

Once the competition ends, on Sunday, August 20 at approximately 3 p.m., the first three male skaters and the first three female skaters to represent Canada at the 2018 Olympic Games will be introduced to the public as members of the provisional team.

Tickets are available online until August 12 at a price of $25 (plus applicable fees) for all five days of competition. 

The first 250 people to buy a five-day pass online will earn a chance to win a pass for the ISU World Short Track Championships, to be held at Maurice-Richard Arena shortly after the Olympic Games, March 16-18, 2018.

Tickets for the Selections are now available through a link available at http://www.speedskating.ca/events/2018-Short-Track-Team-Selections.

Later on, it will also be possible to buy tickets at the gate for $10 per day for events to be held August 12, 13, 16 and 18, and for $15 on Sunday, August 20. The five-day pass will also be available at the gate for $40. Admission is free for kids 12 years of age and under.

32 athletes in action

Over the five days of competition, the 16 men and 16 women in action will take part in three races in each of the distances, i.e. the 500m, the 1000m and the 1500m.
