Bowls Canada Boulingrin – Victoria, B.C.| August 9, 2017

Top lawn bowlers from across the country will meet at the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowling Club, in sunny Victoria, British Columbia to compete in the 2017 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships (also known as the Majors). The competition will begin Monday, August 14th through till Sunday, August 19th with six national titles up for grabs, as well as the coveted Cy English and the Lady Alexander titles. 180 participants representing eight provinces will compete in men’s and women’s pairs, triples and fours. With many returning champions in the field, the competition is expected to be fierce.

Many of Canada’s top bowlers will be playing in Victoria, including returning champions, brothers Jonathan and Michael Pituley (SK) who will be looking to defend their 2016 pairs title.  As well, Grant Wilkie (SK), Rob Law (MB) and Auzzie Chambers (BC) who are fresh from the Junior and Under 25’s Championships, will be looking to improve on their performances.

On the women’s side, newly crowned Junior champion Jordan Kos will be representing Saskatchewan in the fours event with her teammates Jean Roney, Frances Scott and Anita Nivala.

Several other members of the National Senior Squad will be looking to add national titles to their résumés, including Joanna Cooper (AB), Shirley Fitzpatrick-Wong (MB), Jackie Foster (NS), Pricilla Westlake (BC), and Greg Wilson (AB).
