Sport Manitoba – Winnipeg, Manitoba –Sport Manitoba is pleased to welcome Jeff Wood and Jordon Korol to the Canada Games Sport for Life Centre’s Performance Team.
 
Wood has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Certified Exercise Physiologist and will be a Sport Performance Specialist at the Canada Games Sport for Life Centre in Winnipeg.
 
He has over 20 years of strength and conditioning experience working in a variety of sports with thousands of athletes ranging from young kids to elite, professional and amateur athletes. Through his new position, Korol will provide rural athletes/coaches with similar resources as Winnipeg’s athletes/coaches without the trip to Winnipeg. Korol will be mirroring the Canada Games Sport for Life Performance Centre in Winnipeg from his office in the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School, targeting rural athletes and coaches in eastern Manitoba.
 
Korol will provide a collection of services and mechanisms targeting athletes in the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Learn to Train and Train to Train stages to develop the mental, physical, technical and tactical requirements to achieve their desired performance outcomes.
 
Korol is the third of four new rural Manitoba positions. Sport Manitoba plans to add its final Coach/Athlete Development Coordinator in northern Manitoba next year.
