Swim Nova Scotia – Toronto, ON– Halifax Trojan swimmers, Nicholas Bourbonniere and Madison Archer were Nova Scotia’s only swimmers to advance to the consolation finals today, the final day of pool competition at the 2017 RBC Canadian Junior Swimming Championships. 

Bourbonniere finished fifteenth in the 14-16 men’s 200m Individual Medley with a personal best time of 2:13.16. Nicholas also swam in the 400m Freestyle during the preliminaries where he finished just shy of his personal best time.  Teammate Madison Archer finished twentieth overall in the 15-17 women’s 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:28.96.

Twelve of Nova Scotia’s swimmers wrapped up competing today at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre.  Swimmers will return to Halifax early this week and begin their final preparations for the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg with the rest of Nova Scotia’s Swim Team.  Pool competition begins at Winnipeg’s Pan Am Pool Monday August 7th.

The open water events start at 9am on Monday July 31st; race distances include 2.5km and 5km.
